AM Restaurant Server & Host(ess)

Part Time – The Madison Concourse Hotel has a rare opening for an AM Server in the Dayton Street Grille. We are looking for someone who enjoys being a part of a team, recognizes the importance of providing exceptional service and can give our guests a memorable experience every day.
Hours: 5:45am – 2pm. Saturday and Sunday is required.
Serving: Serves food and beverages to guests in the restaurant. Follows procedures in taking guest’s order i.e., uses MICROS system correctly and to its fullest capacity. Smiles! Previous serving experience is preferred, but will train the right individual.
Hosting: The host(ess) is the critical first impression of the restaurant and therefore is empowered to create memorable guest experiences. A well groomed presentation and professional courteous demeanor is a MUST. Meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer choice of seating, then escort them to their table and present menu. Answer restaurant phone and take reservations. Maintain proper set-up of dining room.

Assistant Banquet Manager

Full Time – AM/PM shifts to include weekends and holidays
This position is responsible for long and short term planning and day-to-day operations of the banquet department. Recommend policy and procedure changes, implement and monitor the department’s budgets and manage expenses within those budgets. Analyze banquet event orders, communicate effectively with customers, managers and team members to ensure that all room setups, equipment, supplies, staffing and menus meet or exceed customer expectations. Review all schedules, equipment, supplies and organize work flow to ensure a quality event to customers on a daily basis. Monitor and control banquet budget (labor costs, beverage costs, supplies and equipment) and coordinate with event budgets to maximize revenue and minimize expenses while providing extraordinary guest service. Previous experience in a high volume banquet facility required; at least two years of previous banquet mangement experience strongly preferred. Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the catering, food and beverage and hospitality professions. This includes experiential knowledge for management of people, complex problems, efficient sales activities and food and beverages management.

Assistant Front Office Manager

Coordinates Front Office activities of hotel and resolves problem arising from guests’ complaints, reservation and room assignment activities, and unusual requests as well as inquiries by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and managers
Primary area of focus is the management of the front desk operation including hiring, training and scheduling.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages subordinate managers and/or supervisors who supervise front line staff of the Front Office including PBX, Front Desk, Bell Staff, and Governor’s Club Staff.

Is responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department, according to the Front Office Manager and established Strategic Plans. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies & applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring, training employees: planning, assigning directing work; appraising performance; rewarding & disciplining employees; addressing complaints & solving problems.
Qualifications: Proficiency in HIS, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook as well as internet. If not proficient in these areas must have Madison area knowledge & be coach-able in these areas. Must have excellent communication skills.
Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent of two-year college or technical school; or two year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Banquet Houseperson

Part Time – AM/PM shifts. Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Responsible for manual set up and break down of banquet functions to desired specification, maintaining A/V equipment, and service and refreshment of functions as needed. Must possess basic English language communication skills; and the ability to lift and move heavy equipment on a continuous basis throughout the shifts. Must be able to work as part of a team.

Banquet Manager
The Madison Concourse Hotel is looking for an experienced food and beverage professional with strong leadership, organizational, communication, and guest service skills to manage our busy Banquet Department. Our Banquet Department is responsible for executing the Hotel’s banquet functions from small meetings to conventions to galas and weddings.

We are committed to providing extraordinary service, impeccable facilities and superb cuisine. As the Banquet Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring we are achieving that vision. This department leader oversees all aspects of the banquet operation including hiring, training, and supervising staff; service of banquet menus; preparing and managing the budget; and managing the banquet beverage program. for banquet setup and beverage service, event execution, and effective leadership techniques. Candidates must be results driven, multi-task oriented, positive, and talented at communicating with both event planners and food and beverage team.

Banquet Server

Part Time – Must be flexible. Must be available to work Friday and Saturdays. Additional availability a plus. This is a year round position.
Responsible for meal set-up, service of food and clean-up for each meal function while providing outstanding service to our guests. Must be able to work as part of a team. Previous serving experience a must in a banquet and/or restaurant setting. This position will require carrying trays of 8-10 plated meals. Outgoing, pleasant personality a must!

Part Time Must be available Mon-Thurs from 2PM-1AM; additional availability Friday, Saturday & Sunday is a plus.Responsible for set-up, mixing of drinks, service and clean up of bar area while enduring quality service and guest satisfaction. Handles cash and credit transactions.
Per Wisconsin State Law, must be 18 years or older. Previous experience a must. Current Operator’s License required upon hire. Pleasant, professional personality a must!
