Banquet Captain

SUMMARY
The Banquet Captain supervises and coordinates activities of banquet waitstaff during banquets to ensure that food and beverages are served promptly by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Extraordinary Service:
1. Coordinate setting up of banquet facility.
2. Directly reports all meal functions to Banquet Manager including any problems, time changes, etc.
3. Consult with Banquet Manager on such items as serving arrangements and additional employees and equipment needed.
4. Make sure all set-ups are done according to contract, make sure they are running on time and that clean-up is proper and complete.
5. Train all new wait staff on the proper banquet wait staff procedures and provide feedback.
6. Read contracts and be aware of special items, i.e. dietary needs, veggie-meals, etc.
7. Responsible for serving alcoholic beverages at functions, i.e. wine service.
8. Supervise the wait staff for each meal function. Make sure they are maintaining their share of the responsibilities, finding work during slow times, etc.
9. Serve meals to guests with courtesy, knowledge and proper attitude. Continue to service tables until they are finished.
10. Ensure banquet is running smoothly, i.e. glasses are filled, food is served and tables are cleared in a timely fashion.
11. Perform any additional duties as deemed necessary by banquet manager.
12. Smile and be friendly to our guests and team members.
13. Make sure Captain’s report is filled out before leaving.
14. Supervise and direct staff to insure that our guests are served with proper attitude and efficiently.
15. Attend all Waitstaff meetings that are scheduled.

Impeccable Facilities:
1. Make sure you and staff is properly uniformed per our appearance policy.
2. Keep all work areas neat & tidy.
3. Check areas in banquet rooms to insure cleanliness during service.
4. Report spills & problems to managers as soon as possible.
5. As you walk throughout the hotel you will pick up and encounter trash in public areas. Do your best to clean it up and if you can’t complete it please report it to someone who can.
6. Maintain & clean all banquet storage/preparation areas.
7. Clean-up banquet room facilities properly and efficiently. Clean the banquet kitchen, clear all dirty dishes, glassware and silverware.
8. Make sure assigned side work is completed daily.

Superb Cuisine:
1. Check each course and insure is correct for service.
2. Verify all items ordered are on buffets for our guests.
3. Decorate all buffets attractively and pleasing to the eye.
4. Ensure customer complaints are dealt with immediate and professional reaction.
5. Report food related issues to Chef and Banquet manager

Banquet Houseperson Lead

SUMMARY
The Banquet Lead Houseperson supervises and coordinates activities of all Houseperson during the shift to ensure rooms and audio-visuals are set correctly; in addition to Food and Beverage are served promptly and appropriately to our guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Extraordinary Service:
1.    Delegate tasks to other housepersons as necessary to ensure the proper maintenance and timeliness of breaks, sets, turns, audio-visual set-up, and other hotel and guest related matters.
2.    Receive instructions at the beginning of each shift from set up/break sheet.
3.    Set up function space to desired specifications and at desired times set forth by the Catering Office and Banquet Manager.
4.    Take care of banquet and audio-visual equipment and facilities and report any needed maintenance to the Banquet Manager. 
5.    Perform minor daily maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, etc.
6.    Assist Banquet Bartenders in obtaining ice, getting supplies and setting up portable bars as needed.  Set up and replace tap beer kegs as needed.
7.    Deliver and service coffee breaks as instructed by the Banquet Manager and according to BEO specifications.
8.  Service and refresh meeting rooms during breaks or as instructed by the Banquet Lead Houseperson or Banquet Manager.
9.  Wear radio at all times.
10.  Attend all Houseperson meetings that are scheduled.
11.  Perform any additional duties as deemed necessary by the Banquet Manager.
12.  Aid groups with special requests and various needs.
13.  Assist wait staff in setting up of rooms as needed.  Put water in all meeting rooms prior to the start of a meeting.  Fill all water glasses needed for all meal functions.
14.  Deliver all hotel guest packages as specified on contract or by supervisor.
15.  Assist guests with carts to help move in and move out of banquet facility.
16.  Smile and be friendly to our guests and team members.
17.  Insure turnovers of banquet rooms are completed in a timely manner, per BEO specifications.
18.  Supervise Banquet Houseperson to insure our guests are happy and all work related tasks are completed.
19.  Make sure all banquet areas are locked and lights turned off at the end of the day.
20.  Confirm room sets and audio-visual against BEO; and make appropriate changes or additions, as needed.

Impeccable Facilities:
1.  Keep all function space in a clean and sanitary condition, which includes vacuuming carpeted areas frequently.
2.  Maintain and clean all banquet storage/preparation areas.
3.  Make sure you and staff are properly uniformed per our appearance policy.

3.  Ensure customer complaints are dealt with immediate and with a professional reaction.
4.  Report food related issues to Chef and Banquet manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bartender

Front Desk Agent

This position interacts with guests and patrons as an ambassador of the hotel. Qualified applicants must be comfortable speaking on the phone, and able to work in a fast-pace environment. The Front Desk Agent is responsible for registering incoming guests and ensuring that they are comfortable in the hotel. This is a full-time position, with shifts four to five days a week. Governor’s Club Dishwasher

Summary
To properly clean wash and store all plates, glassware, flatware, and all other kitchenware used by the Governor’s Club staff and guests. They will also take care of other cleaning projects throughout the Governor’s Club kitchen, as determined by front office management.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Set up or break down dishwashing area.
• Properly load and unload dishwasher throughout the shift.
• Hand wash items as directed or as needed due to business levels throughout the shift.
• Load food presentation items such as platters onto the food cart throughout the evening. Deliver the food cart at the end of the night to the dishwashing area of the main kitchen.
• Pickup food items from the main kitchen and deliver to the Governor’s Club kitchen as required.
• Maintain a sanitary condition of the Governor’s Club kitchen and storage areas.
• Ensure that cleaning supplies and sanitation supplies are fully stocked and properly labeled with MSDS stickers.
• Remove trash and garbage to dumpster.
• Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping and mopping the kitchen.
• Perform daily cleaning projects according to the cleaning schedule or as assigned by front office management.

PBX Operator

As a PBX telephone operator you are often the first impression of the hotel. Room Attendant

The Madison Concourse Hotel is looking for part time Starbucks Barista’s, with a three shift minimum requirement per week. Flexible shifts available, to include weekends and holidays between the hours of 5:15am or 7:00am until 10:00am or 2:00pm. These positions have potential for full-time status.

This position contributes to the Hotel’s success by providing extraordinary service, impeccable facilities, and superb cuisine to all customers and guests. This job creates the Starbucks Experience within our Hotel for our guests and customers by providing prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks and The Madison Concourse Hotel’s guiding principles.

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:

Acts with integrity, honesty and knowledge that promote the culture, values and mission of Starbucks. Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high volume or unusual events to keep store operating to standard and to set a positive example for the shift team. Anticipates customer and store needs by constantly evaluating environment and customers for cues. Communicates information to manager so that the team can respond as necessary to create the Third Place environment during each shift. Assists with new partner training by positively reinforcing successful performance and giving respectful and encouraging coaching as needed. Contributes to positive team environment by recognizing alarms or changes in partner morale and performance and communicating them to the store manager. Delivers legendary customer service to all customers by acting with a customer comes first attitude and connecting with the customer. Discovers and responds to customer needs. Follows Starbucks operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security, to ensure the safety of all partners during each shift. Maintains a clean and organized workspace so that partners can locate resources and product as needed. Provides quality beverages, whole bean, and food products consistently for all customers by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products. Recognizes and reinforces individual and team accomplishments by using existing organizational methods. Maintains regular and punctual attendance Summary of Experience: No previous experience required

Qualifications:

Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication Comply with a dress code that prohibits displaying tattoos, piercings in excess of two per ear, and unnatural hair colors, such as blue or pink Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as temperature, quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients Available to perform many different tasks within the store during each shift
