Assistant Front Office Manager

Coordinates Front Office activities of hotel and resolves problem arising from guests’ complaints, reservation and room assignment activities, and unusual requests as well as inquiries by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors and managers
Primary area of focus is the management of the front desk operation including hiring, training and scheduling.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages subordinate managers and/or supervisors who supervise front line staff of the Front Office including PBX, Front Desk, Bell Staff, and Governor’s Club Staff.

Is responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the department, according to the Front Office Manager and established Strategic Plans. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies & applicable laws. Responsibilities include hiring, training employees: planning, assigning directing work; appraising performance; rewarding & disciplining employees; addressing complaints & solving problems.
Qualifications: Proficiency in HIS, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook as well as internet. If not proficient in these areas must have Madison area knowledge & be coach-able in these areas. Must have excellent communication skills.
Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent of two-year college or technical school; or two year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Banquet Houseperson

Part Time – AM/PM shifts. Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
Responsible for manual set up and break down of banquet functions to desired specification, maintaining A/V equipment, and service and refreshment of functions as needed. Must possess basic English language communication skills; and the ability to lift and move heavy equipment on a continuous basis throughout the shifts. Must be able to work as part of a team.

Bell Services

The Madison Concourse Hotel is seeking a Bell Service person to join their team! The bell services staff is responsible for providing a warm and friendly welcome, escorting guests to and from their rooms, assisting with luggage, valeting vehicles and driving our guest shuttles to and from the airport and various Madison area locations. The ideal candidate will have a passion for great guest service and ensure that guests feel at home. In this highly visible role, the bell staff is responsible for assisting guests with everything from directions to dining reservations. A successful candidate is outgoing, friendly, enjoys guest interaction, resolving problems and working in a fast paced environment. This position is a full-time, year round. Shifts will vary to include weekends and holidays.

Director of Sales & Marketing

The DOSM is responsible for maximizing revenues directly contributing to the profitability of the hotel. In addition, they will provide support of all group rooms and event processes and procedures from the point of inquiry until the booking is definite to maximize revenue and ensure delivery of budgeted revenues. The DOSM will work closely with the Director of Revenue Management to actively position the hotel’s inventory throughout applicable distribution channels. The position is also responsible for coordinating activities related to all catering functions in accordance with the standards of a full service hotel.

The DOSM must demonstrate refined communication skills and thrive at driving sales and managing sales professionals using excellent communication skills. The DOSM must be self-motivated, enthusiastic and enjoy working in an environment that promotes autonomy, accountability and a close team environment.

The Director of Sales & Marketing must be able to:
Communicate and implement the hotel mission, systems and structures and provide leadership to position the property effectively within the community as a market leader; be comfortable communicating the goals and objectives of a first class hospitality operation, and inspire associates to achieve those goals.

In addition, the DOSM will:

  • - Establish profitable and cost-effective sales programs and strategies
  • - Develop, maintain and implement strategies/action plans to generate revenues for the hotel
  • - Consistently monitor results to goals through regular reporting
  • - Actively identify, target and solicit new and potential key accounts to generate direct sales
  • - Maintain Sales Team’s focus on a proactive selling environment
  • - Develop, motivate and lead Sales staff in consistently exceeding production goals
  • - Develop a Business Plan and Budget for future sales strategies and team effort
  • - Promote an atmosphere of teamwork with the ability to lead by example
  • - Build morale and spirit while instilling an industry leading guest service attitude in all associates
  • - Strong customer service orientation and skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • - Use of a “hands-on” approach to management and team development

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, forecasting analysis and industry standard computer systems including Delphi, MARSHA and FOSSE property management systems. Knowledge of key monthly reports that provide market share, pricing, competitive analysis and forecasting. Understanding all market segments – group and transient, revenue management and online distribution channels.

Candidates with two to five years experience in a previous Director of Sales & Marketing role with a full service hotel are strongly preferred.

Front Desk Agent

The Madison Concourse Hotel is seeking a Guest Service Representative to join their front office team. The guest service representative acts as the face of the hotel to all guests upon arrival. This position interacts with guests and patrons as an ambassador of the hotel. Qualified applicants must be comfortable speaking on the phone, and able to work in a fast-pace environment. The Guest Service Representative is responsible for registering incoming guests and ensuring that they are comfortable in the hotel. This is a full-time position, with shifts four to five days a week. The shifts are usually 8 hours, typically between 7AM-3PM or 3-11PM, but can be mid-day shifts as well, including weekends and/or holidays. Knowing your way around the city and all of its attractions is a must. Previous hotel experience is preferred, but a customer service background is required.

General Maintenance Technician

The Madison Concourse Hotel is seeking a General Maintenance Engineer to join their engineering team. This position’s responsibility includes maintaining the functionality of our hotel, including guest rooms, public spaces and staff areas. The general maintenance engineer must be able to perform a variety of repair and maintenance tasks including carpentry, plumbing, electric, painting, HVAC and masonry. Previous experience in a corporate facilities maintenance position is required. Full Time Shifts are mostly 7AM-3PM and are a mixture of weekends and weekdays.

Human Resources Generalist

The Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club is currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist. Our extraordinary service, impeccable facilities and superb cuisine help make us one of the nation’s most successful independent hotels.

The Human Resources Generalist manages the day-to-day operations of the Human Resource office. Responsibilities include the administration of the human resources policies, procedures and programs. The HR Generalist assists in the following functional areas: recruiting and employment, employee relations, training and development, benefits and, organizational development .
Responsible for all or part of these areas:
• recruiting and staffing logistics;
• performance management and improvement systems;
• organization development;
• employment and compliance to regulatory concerns and reporting;
• employee orientation, development, and training;

The Human Resources Generalist originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a guest-centered environment.

The Human Resources Generalist coordinates implementation of services, policies, and programs; reports to the Human Resources Director, and assists and advises company managers about Human Resources issues.

Primary Objectives:
• Assures timely posting of open positions and recruitment of individuals who will support the vision of the company
• Assures benefit administration to all eligible employees as well as continued benefit support to all current employees
• Assures continuous support to the Human Resources Director in all areas of the department

Position Essential Functions:
• Adheres to the SOP and union contract regarding open position posting and advertisement of positions
• Conducts initial screening for qualified applicants and forwards suitable applicants to hiring managers for interviews
• Conducts new hire orientation
• Maintain employee files and records, assures completeness of file.
• Manages benefit administration
o Notifies and administers benefits to all eligible employees
o Enrolls, terminates and make changes to employee benefit accounts as necessary
o Conducts monthly benefit billing audits
o Posts and distributes information on open enrollment periods
o Informs employees of any changes or additions to existing benefits
• Assists the Human Resources Director with projects in a timely manner, support in training programs and general office support

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. 1-2 years of Human Resources experience strongly preferred. Must be proficient in computer knowledge to include use of Microsoft office products. Outgoing, professional and patient personality a must!

PM Line Cook

The Madison Concourse Hotel and Governor’s Club is seeking a Full Time PM line cook to join our culinary team! The line cook is responsible for preparing food that results in high quality of taste and appearance to satisfy guests and maximize food revenues. Ability to operate, maintain and properly clean deep fryer, broiler, stove, steamer, food processor, mixer, slicer, oven steam table, tilt kettle, waffle iron and flat top grill is required. Successful candidates will have 2 or more years line cook experience in a fast paced atmosphere. Fine Dining culinary experience is preferred. Must have the ability to work as part of a dynamic team to consistently deliver a quality product. Start time is between 1PM & 3PM to include weekends and holidays.

PM Restaurant Server/Host

Part Time – Evening shifts 2-3 days per week and must be available weekends.
The Madison Concourse Hotel is looking for an PM Server/Host to join their team in the Dayton Street Grille. We are looking for someone who enjoys being a part of a team, recognizes the importance of providing exceptional service and can give our guests a memorable experience every day. Previous serving experience is preferred but not required. Qualified applicants must be available to work 4PM-10:30PM.
Previous serving experience is preferred, but will train the right individual.

Reservations Agent

The Madison Concourse Hotel is looking for a friendly, customer service oriented, and professional individual to join their team as a Reservation Agent. This position processes all reservation requests in a call center environment. Reservation agents must be able determine callers’ needs through active listening and the use of probing questions to satisfy and sell to those needs. Excellent telephone etiquette and basic computer knowledge are required. This is a full time position with 8 hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
