Lake Monona

Lake Monona is one of the five lakes in Madison, including Mendota, Waubesa, Kegonsa, and Wingra. It forms the south shore of the isthmus and is best seen from Monona Terrace, John Nolen Drive, Olin Park, and Olbrich Park.

What Our Team Says

"On John Nolen Drive, I fell in love with Madison at first sight. While it was frigid cold outside, I drove into Madison with that spectacular view. I personally dubbed it 'the million dollar view' ever since. But that biking/running path along the Monona lake is great all year round. You can enjoy it from your car (like I first did), on a run, on a bike (rent one from the B-Cycle station just outside the hotel!), or on your blanket. If you want to chill out, pack a book and a hot cup of coffee (or wine, if you were me) and spend time right by the lake. If you want to be active, the possibilities are endless!"
